Auto Accidents
If you are injured in an auto accident, Michigan has a complicated set of rules for how you get compensated for your injuries. We can help you navigate the system and make sure you get everything to which you are entitled.
Michigan has a "No Fault" insurance law which means that your own auto insurance company must pay your medical expenses and wage losses, regardless of who was at fault in the accident. The list of things the insurance company has to pay for may surprise you.
If the other driver was at fault, and you suffered permanent serious disfigurement, serious impairment of a body function, or death, you or your family may be able to recover "non-economic damages". These damages are compensation for pain and suffering, emotional anguish, stress and anxiety and other items that do not involve a monetary loss.
Dog Bites
If you are bitten by a dog, you can recover compensation from the owner of the dog. These claims are usually covered by the dog owner's homeowner's insurance policy. You can even bring a claim against a relative's homeowner's insurance. It is not necessary to prove negligence or fault and most claims are paid as long as you did not provoke the attack.
Negligence
There are a variety of the other situations where you can recover compensation where another person or business is negligent and you are injured. Examples include a slip and fall caused by dangerous conditions in a store, injury caused by a defective product, and many other situations.
Intentional Wrongs
If you are assaulted, molested, infected with a disease or otherwise deliberately injured, you can recover compensation from the guilty party.
Fees
We handle personal injury matters on a contingent fee basis. That means you do not pay us any attorney fees unless we recover money for you. Our fees are a percentage of the amount recovered.
